A play about power, ambition, political secrets, ruthlessness and the race for the presidency, Gore Vidal’s The Best Man is set at the national convention where two candidates are vying for their party’s nomination during the primary season. It’s an inside look at the dirt-digging, double-dealing, triple-crossing chicanery of presidential electioneering...and what could be more fun in a Presidential campaign season than these theatrical fireworks.

Kristin Raves About the “Baby Play Face App”

by Rachel on Aug 20th, 2012 • Categories: Kristin, News • Comments: 0

My daughter isn’t old enough for screen time and I haven’t started letting her play with my iPhone too much. But there’s one exception: when we’re flying. I think that constitutes an emergency, right? She is just captivated by all the other baby’s faces and their expressions in the Baby Play Face App, and it definitely keeps her focused on takeoff. Which is really important, because Gemma is the kind of kid who just wants to wave to every single person on the plane!

Kristin Talks Baby and Working on Broadway

by Rachel on Aug 11th, 2012 • Categories: 'The Best Man', News • Comments: 0

Former Sex and the City actress, Kristin Davis is currently starring in Broadway’s The Best Man, while taking care of adopted daughter Gemma Rose who she became a mother to last summer. She told People magazine:

“The show is at night most of the days, so I spend all morning and all day with her then I go do the show at night. It’s actually [a] really great schedule for a mum. I’m able to be with her and have a job, which is rare and wonderful.”

The 47-year-old actress continued: “She’s trying to walk – she hasn’t walked totally alone, but she walks with furniture. She’s doing great. I’m not trying to push her. Especially as a single mum, you have to be really on your toes. Once they start moving around as well, you can’t be foggy.”

Kristin added: There are so many things that can happen, so it gives me such peace of mind to know that there’s something I can take that’s healthy. Zarbee’s coats my throat gently, doesn’t affect my performance and doesn’t affect me getting up at 6 a.m. with my baby.”

“In L.A. we have a big bin of books and a big bin of toys and in the morning, when we go to play, she goes for the book bin. I’m very proud of her.”

Kristin Joins Broadway’s “The Best Man”

by Rachel on Jun 14th, 2012 • Categories: 'The Best Man', News • Comments: 0

Broadway is about to get a little more of Uncle Jesse, Maddie, and Charlotte when John Stamos, Cybill Shepherd, and Kristin Davis join the cast of the twice-extended revival of Gore Vidal’s The Best Man.

The newcomers to the show will step into the roles currently played by Eric McCormack, Candice Bergen and Kerry Butler, respectively, when the trio departs on July 8. Elizabeth Ashley will also step into the play, replacing Angela Lansbury beginning on July 24.

Although The Best Man failed to take home a trophy at this year’s Tony Awards, the politically-charged play–about two mudslinging presidential candidates vying for endorsements at their party’s national convention–has seen steady grosses and an average 85-percent house capacity since its opening in April. The production has extended its limited engagement twice already, but is scheduled to end its run on September 9.

Current stars John Larroquette, James Earl Jones, and Jefferson Mays are set to remain with the production until it closes. (Source)

Kristin Supports Oxfam’s Mother’s Day Campaign

by Rachel on May 10th, 2012 • Categories: 'Oxfam', News • Comments: 0

International relief and development organization Oxfam America is teaming up with Kristin Davis this Mother’s Day to show appreciation of moms in our lives by giving back to others with a gift from Oxfam America Unwrapped.

“The mothers we know and love deserve more than one day of praise for the incredible contribution they make toward improving our world,” said Kristin. “This year, give the mom in your life a gift that will continue changing lives for years to come.”

As an Oxfam Ambassador, Kristin Davis has seen firsthand the impact these gifts have on mothers and their families. A water jug ($18) can help a family store and transport clean drinking water; a vegetable garden ($30) can help a mother jumpstart a small business and provide security for her children; or you can help restore a pre-school ($35) so a mother can comfortably send her children off to grow and learn in safety. There are over 70 life-changing products to choose from at OxfamGifts.com.

“What better way to honor a mother in your life than to help a family in need,” said Stephanie Kurzina, vice president for fundraising and communications at Oxfam America. “With a gift from Oxfam America Unwrapped, you can say ‘thanks mom’ in a truly meaningful way.”

Oxfam America’s Unwrapped catalog offers items that symbolically represent the organization’s lifesaving work, and each purchase is a contribution toward Oxfam’s many programs that help people living in poverty throughout the world. All gift contributions are general donations to support Oxfam America’s mission of fighting poverty, hunger and social injustice in over 90 countries around the world. Gifts are fully tax-deductible. “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” Secures Video Release

by Rachel on Apr 3rd, 2012 • Categories: 'Journey 2 The Mysterious Island', News • Comments: 0

Warner Bros has announced Journey 2: The Mysterious Island will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D on June 5th. The film stars Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Hudgens, Michael Caine, Kristin Davis, Luis Guzman and Dwayne Johnson. No official word on what (if any) the specials will include.

In the second action adventure movie, Hutcherson’s Sean Anderson receives a coded distress signal from a island where an island shouldn’t exist. Together with his new stepfather, a helicopter pilot and his beautiful but strong-willed daughter, Sean must find the island to rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea. Along the way, they encounter strange lifeforms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes and lots of secrets.
