The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is a small, flexible charity, established in 1977 to honour to memory of a famous Naturalist, David Leslie William Sheldrick MBE, the founder Warden of Tsavo East National Park in Kenya, where he served from its inception in 1948 until his transfer to Nairobi in 1976 to head the Planning Unit of the newly created Wildlife Conservation & Management Department. David died 6 months later but his legacy of excellence and the systems he installed for the management of Tsavo and wildlife generally in Kenya, particularly in the sphere of wildlife husbandry and ethics, lives on. Sarah Jessica Parker has been pictured filming scenes for the new Sex And The City movie in Morocco.
Acknowledging the country’s Muslim dress-code, SJP – who plays Carrie – was spotted strutting the streets of Marrakech dressed in a full length purple skirt, ‘J’Adore Dior’ T-shirt and silver bolero jacket to cover up.
Co-star Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda, was also pictured in the exotic city wearing a floaty floor-length white shirt dress, belted at the waist, with a white jacket and white trilby as she pounded the pavements of old Marrakech’s main square Djemaa El Fna.
Producers are trying to keep secret why Carrie is in Morocco, but there are rumours she and new husband Mr Big travel there to adopt a child.
Sex And The City costume designer Patricia Field told People magazine:
“We’re shooting there for about six weeks. You’ll probably see belly dancers and Bedouins.”
As well as Marrakech, the SATC crew are expected to film in the Moroccan cities of Reefed and Rabat.
When we saw photos of SJP et al on set of the second SATC film, our excitement reached fever point. Samantha in a wedding dress? 80s flashbacks? We were more thrilled than Carrie in a Jimmy Choo store. Here Kristin Davis aka Charlotte gives us the behind-the-scenes goss…
‘Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and I are all close in different ways and we’ve all been together now forever. It’s hard to describe what it’s like to be able to have gone through the crazy, crazy journey that is Sex And The City together. There is no one else we could turn to and talk about “remember when”. We have years of crazy experiences together. And you can’t recreate that with anybody, you can’t even pull anybody else into it. So I have different relationships with each of them and they have with each other. We’re all in touch in different ways, which is obviously different than being together in a group. It’s hard to all meet up when we’re off because Kim’s in England and Sarah is at the beach and we’re all so busy.
But this time, we managed to see a lot of one another before we were on the SATC movie set, because we had a lot of pre-production things to do. We did our read-through of the script, just like we used to do for every episode of SATC. We sat in the same building, at the same table, in the same chairs we have done since 1997. That’s the part where it totally gels – it sparks. Something happens when we get in there altogether.
I like Charlotte’s style. I am into fashion because of her and the show, much more than I ever would’ve been. We have to be knowledgeable. It’s not like the stylists just go, “wear that”. It’s a collaboration that’s lengthy and involved and I like that. I had the boring outfit in the 80s flashback for the film, but it works for Charlotte. I enjoyed watching the others in their crazy versions.
I get called Charlotte all the time. But luckily Charlotte is nice and people like her, so it’s not the worst thing in the world. I also get asked if Charlotte’s pregnant in the movie, but I can’t comment. It’s a bummer. I feel the pressure. It’s hard because they came with the script and of course, we were dying to get it. And we knew the bigger ideas, but we couldn’t wait to get the actual script in our hands. So someone from New Line Cinema drives out to the house, and they have it there in the little envelope and they won’t give it to you. They give you the three-page legal document you have to sign first and then they’ll hand it over. It’s been very hardcore, so I certainly would never want to have any lawyers calling me. Also, we want people to be surprised.
It would be fantastic and wonderful to do a third film but there are nutty rumours as you know – someone told us on the set “Oh, apparently we’re shooting both 2 and 3 right now”. We were like “Wow! Very impressive”. So I don’t know anything about it.’
A role a world away from Charlotte
‘When I was approached for Couples Therapy it was a surprise to me anyone would be casting any of the four of us that way. I was excited as Lucy’s so different, a departure for me. I knew Jon Favreau (right) and Vince Vaughn, and sometimes it takes another actor to see you can do other things. I’ve never done couples therapy myself, but I’ve had therapy, and it’s great. It helped me when I used to audition. Sometimes I’d have 12 auditions a day as I did a lot of commercials. So it helped counteract some of the negativity because they’re like, “She’s not pretty enough… she’s not tall enough… she’s not thin enough… she’s not this…” I just needed someone to keep my head on.’
Last week, Miley Cyrus was spotted on the set of the “Sex and the City” sequel. It confirmed the longstanding rumors that the “Hannah Montana” star, who has been open about her love for the TV show and movie, was tapped to make a cameo in the movie.
Despite the paparazzi shots that exist of the young actress on set with Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis couldn’t share too many spoilers about Miley’s part in the flick. “I was not [on set that day],” she said. “I love Miley. If Miley loves us, I’m thrilled. I heard it’s true. ”
She was also apprehensive to talk about the rumors that Oscar-winning actress Penélope Cruz will be chilling with Charlotte, Carrie, Samantha and Miranda in the sequel. “I think Penélope Cruz is a brilliant, brilliant, brilliant actress. I have not seen her lately, but I have met her in life, and when I met her in life she told me she was a big ‘Sex and the City’ fan and I just about fainted,” she said. “I don’t know.”
What about those rumors that the ladies would be heading to Morocco for a little vacation from New York City? Davis, of course, couldn’t confirm or deny those rumors either. But judging by what she did say, the answer looks closer to yes than no.
“I do have my passport, but I can’t say where [we’re going]. I’m not allowed to say anything. I know — it’s so boring. But, yes, we are going on an adventure together … the group of us,” she said. “I can’t say because I’ll get into so much trouble. I know I’m a horrible interview. Maybe … I’m going to be in a country that doesn’t celebrate Halloween.”

“He was the Sharkboy, and I played the mother of the other kid who imagined Sharkboy and Lavagirl in Robert Rodriguez’s movie, and I met him down in Texas. He was a kid and he didn’t have those muscles, and I don’t know what happened. I see these pictures [now and] I can’t believe it. I feel protective, like what is he doing without his shirt on? And then I hear he’s dating people and I’m like, ‘Ahh!'”

Eighties outfits? Appearances by Penélope Cruz, Miley Cyrus and Liza Minnelli? Little by little, the secrets of the sequel to the Sex and the City movie are leaking out, and style guru Patricia Field is filling PEOPLE in. WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW.
So what was the real story behind those ’80s outfits that Sarah Jessica Parker and her three pals were dressed in – and widely seen in photos from a shoot on the streets of the Big Apple?
“It was in the beginning of the movie,” Field explained. “Carrie was waiting to meet her girlfriends and she was thinking about when she first moved to New York in the ’80s and how she met Samantha and Charlotte. They’re all, in real time, meeting to go shopping. And in her flashback time, she is thinking of when she first met each one of them.”
What’s with the guest appearances by Cruz, Minnelli and Cyrus? Cyrus recently filmed a scene with Kim Cattrall, where the two ostensibly showed up to a movie premiere in matching outfits.
“That’s in the story line, but I’m not going to tell that one,” Field teases. “But, it’s fun. Miley’s a very good character. She’s a really nice girl. She’s happy and with it! She’s a very cool girl.”
Road to Morocco
What about the films’ increasingly exotic locales? After all, in the first movie, Carrie and friends fled Gotham for Mexico after Mr. Big stood her up at the altar. The new movie doesn’t disappoint, Field promises, saying they’ll be visiting Morocco.
“[We’re shooting] there for about six weeks,” she said. “You’ll probably see belly dancers and Bedouins!”
But Field zips her lip when it comes to the biggest question of all: Will Carrie be expecting a baby?
“I don’t know,” she says. “You’re going to have to see for yourself because then what’s the fun?”
After much speculation and a semi-confirmation from Miley Cyrus about her upcoming cameo in the “Sex and the City” sequel, photos emerged over the weekend that confirm that Cyrus will in fact have a role in the movie. Cyrus was seen on the set on October 16, filming a scene in which she wears the same dress on a red carpet as Kim Cattrall’s character, Samantha Jones. According to reports that surfaced in September about the cameo, Samantha chooses the dress for the event in order to look “hot and young.”
In the scene, Cattrall and Cyrus, who plays herself, are wearing the sparkly strapless gold dress paired with tan knee-high boots. Miley accessorizes her dress with a spiked necklace, while Jones pairs hers with a big topaz asymmetrical choker. According to Us Weekly, the characters are attending the premiere of “Heart of the Desert,” the latest film starring Smith (Jason Lewis), Samantha’s on-again, off-again boyfriend, at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York. Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth were also spotted on the set that day.
Cyrus reportedly won’t have any lines in the film, but that has yet to be confirmed. During the scene, the outspoken Anthony (Mario Cantone) reportedly responds with, “Mother of God. She is wearing the same dress as Hannah Montana.”
The film is set to hit theaters in May 2010; Penélope Cruz and Liza Minnelli also have reported cameos in the flick. Back in September, when MTV News asked Cyrus about rumors of her appearance, she asked her publicist, “Can we talk about that?” She then replied by saying, “Ah, zipped tight.”
New Line has confirmed that Project Runway’s Tim Gunn will appear in the Sex and the City sequel. (E Online first reported the story.) Gunn is currently shooting in New York City and will play himself. This isn’t the first time that Gunn has worked with Sarah Jessica Parker; she appeared as a guest judge on Project Runway in 2007.
Penelope Cruz, Liza Minnelli and Jason Lewis have all recently shot scenes for the sequel, as well.

Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau were a hoot as a pair of single guys in indie comedy Swingers. Thirteen years on, they’ve co-written a comedy about pals who have grown up and married off – but it feels like a less honest, more commercially motivated endeavour.
Four chummy couples fly off to an exotic Pacific island. Only divorcebound Jason (Jason Bateman) and Cynthia (Kristen Bell) are signed up for the ‘couples skill-building’ sessions that then turn out to be compulsory for all.
There’s enjoyable observational humour: parents will recognise stressful scenarios such as children peeing in showroom toilets. But when the eight-strong group (also including Kristin Davis and Malin Akerman, pictured with Vaughn) hit the beach, the script becomes more interested in strung-out set-pieces and laddish (or rather, mannish) humour. Individually many of these actors have charm but crammed together they barely have room to breathe. Men and women are reduced to stereotypes, and Peter Serafinowicz and Jean Reno are wasted in one-note roles.
Vaughn manages to grab more screen time to showcase his charisma but do we really need to watch his midlife crisis unfold over the course of nearly two hours?
I have added over 250 screen captures from Kristin’s appearance on The Late Night With David Letterman from October 8th, 2009. Kristin was beautiful, charming and funny. Visit the gallery for the latest additions!
The celebrity guest appearances keep on coming for the sequel to the blockbuster Sex and the City film. OK! has learned that Penélope Cruz is the latest A-lister to hop on the Sex and the City 2 bandwagon. The Oscar-winner just filmed a cameo appearance, playing herself on the red carpet.
And while Beyoncé won’t be in the film, her hit song “Single Ladies” will be. OK! has confirmed that stage and screen legend Liza Minnelli sings the song at the wedding of Stanford (Willie Garson) and Anthony (Mario Cantone) — the same wedding where Sarah Jessica Parker plays the best man!.
OK! can also confirm that Miley Cyrus, who had talked openly about wanting to play a young SJP in the rumored prequel, will indeed be filming a cameo in the movie later this week.
