SJP Blames Director for “SATC 2″ Reaction?

We can probably file this one in the false rumors category … Sarah Jessica Parker has reportedly fallen out with Sex And The City 2 writer and director Michael Patrick King after public reaction to the film. The movie, also starring Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis, underperformed at the US box office and received a mixed response from fans and critics. A source told the National Enquirer: “Don’t look for Michael on future projects – SJP feels he’s lost his hit-making touch. She felt unsure about the script from the start, especially the whole ‘the girls drop in on Dubai’ twist, but Michael assured her they had a blockbuster on their hands… and told her to trust him. She did – but she won’t make that mistake again.” Source

More Ridiculous “Sex and the City” Rumors

The latest “Sex and the City” rumors circulating the internet are about our beloved Kristin: “Beef up my role or else!” is what News of the World claims Kristin Davis has threatened. According to the tab, Davis is none too happy that her character’s role in Sex and the City 2 was severely cut down. “Now she is said to be demanding a bigger slice of the plotline before committing to a new production,” reports the paper. Of course, with the poor reception for the current film, this may not even be an issue. The paper also alleges Davis is “peeved” that co-star Sarah Jessica Parker embarrassingly exposed that she had stomach issues while they filmed in Morocco. A rep for Davis stated, “This is absurd.” (Source)

Omid Djalili has revealed that the cast of Sex And The City frequently upset director Michael Patrick King. Djalili, whose new movie The Infidel opens in the UK on April 9, told DS that Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon’s constant chatting was a source of frustration for King: “I was alone with the girls for a week, so that was exciting,” said Djalili, who stars as Mr Safir in the sequel. “They get on so well that actually the director got angry with them a few times because they just kept yapping together. He would say, ‘If you’re not going to come on set there’s no point!’. He got very upset with them.” Source

Sex and the City 2 hasn’t even hit theaters, and there are already rumors Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte are coming back for a third. “This is not true,” a New Line Cinema rep tells UsMagazine.com. According to the UK Sun, the studio wanted to move quickly to film a third flick before the Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon got too old. “It’s under wraps for publicity reasons,” the paper quotes an insider saying. “It makes sense to film the second and third movies back-to-back… They’re keen to look as young as possible because that movie will be their last.” SATC 2 hits theaters May 28. More rumors are circulating that the Sex and the City foursome are not getting along. This just sounds like more of the same rumors going around. The sequel to the Sex and the City movie is in full swing, with production moving to Morocco for seven weeks, but the four stars are only spending time together on-camera, according to the New York Post’s Cindy Adams, who says Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon are staying at different hotels. And while Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall are both staying at the Amenjena Hotel, they’re avoiding each other as well, even dining separately in the hotel restaurant. Source

Eighties outfits? Appearances by Penélope Cruz, Miley Cyrus and Liza Minnelli? Little by little, the secrets of the sequel to the Sex and the City movie are leaking out, and style guru Patricia Field is filling PEOPLE in. WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW. So what was the real story behind those ’80s outfits that Sarah Jessica Parker and her three pals were dressed in – and widely seen in photos from a shoot on the streets of the Big Apple? Flashback Time “It was in the beginning of the movie,” Field explained. “Carrie was waiting to meet her girlfriends and she was thinking about when she first moved to New York in the ’80s and how she met Samantha and Charlotte. They’re all, in real time, meeting to go shopping. And in her flashback time, she is thinking of when she first met each one of them.” What’s with the guest appearances by Cruz, Minnelli and Cyrus? Cyrus recently filmed a scene with Kim Cattrall, where the two ostensibly showed up to a movie premiere in matching outfits. “That’s in the story line, but I’m not going to tell that one,” Field teases. “But, it’s fun. Miley’s a very good character. She’s a really nice girl. She’s happy and with it! She’s a very cool girl.” Road to Morocco What about the films’ increasingly exotic locales? After all, in the first movie, Carrie and friends fled Gotham for Mexico after Mr. Big stood her up at the altar. Kristin Davis’ boyfriend treats her like a “princess”. The ‘Sex and the City‘ actress’ photographer beau Russell James, who she began dating earlier this year, wants to make her feel as special as possible and has been lavishing her with presents. A source said: “He is put a lot into making this work. He’s made Kristin a princess and she loves every minute. It’s been terribly passionate and romantic, he showers Kristin with gifts and love notes, like a teenage boy in love.” Russell has sent bunches of flowers and pearl jewellery to Kristin on the set of the new ‘Sex and the City’ movie – currently being shot in New York – and her co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall, are impressed with his attentiveness. Sarah (Jessica Parker) has been teasing her that she’s being spoilt by Russell. It’s all in good fun and of course everyone is happy for her.

Gilles Marini Not Returning For SATC Sequel?

Gilles Marini has made no secret of his desire to join the “Sex and the City” cast once again, but it looks like the 33-year-old will be missing from the line-up for “Sex and the City 2″. E! Online was the first to break the news, quoting Marini’s representative as saying, “As far as I know, he will not be in the sequel.” During his participation in the eighth season of “Dancing with the Stars”, the actor who takes on the role of Samantha Jones’ neighbor Dante told Marc Malkin of E! that he’s going shirtless for his paso double with partner Cheryl Burke to impress “SATC” writer/director Michael Patrick King. “I said, ‘Cheryl, I’m talking my shirt off. I want to show Michael I’m still in shape,’ ” he shared. “I know he is writing beautiful things lately, and maybe he could put me in one of his projects.” On another interview, Marini told Hollyscoop that he was in talks to reprise the role. “We’ve been talking. We’ll see what happens. If Michael Patrick King comes down and says ‘I have this part for you’, I’ll drop everything, except Dancing With the Stars, and I’ll do it,” he said at the time. “He’s a brilliant writer so I’d love to work with him again. I’m sure he has a lot of amazing thing cooking for me.” After months of speculations, “Sex and the City 2” has got thumbs up earlier this year with all four main actresses, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, agreeing to make their return. King has also been set to tackle this follow-up movie. The shooting is expected to begin in a couple of weeks or so, while the movie is aimed for a May 28, 2010 U.S. release.
