Cynthia Nixon says the new Sex and the City movie is more of a “romp” than the previous film. In the first big screen instalment of the television show, Cynthia’s character Miranda Hobbes separated from her husband after discovering he had been unfaithful, while Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw was stood up on her wedding day. Cynthia has revealed the latest movie will be far more upbeat as the four main stars leave New York behind and travel to Morocco.

“The last movie was more of a tearjerker, and this is really more of a romp – an adventure!” She revealed to In Touch Weekly magazine. “I like the caper aspect of the movie, the four of us on the run in a foreign country. It’s fun!”

Jason Lewis also appears in the movie sequel and is hopeful there will be a third instalment in the franchise. Jason plays Smith Jerrod – the love interest of Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall – and is keen to reprise the role again in the future.

“I’m not sure,” he said when asked about the prospect of a third movie. “But if anybody can do it, it’s [director] Michael Patrick King. He’s so brilliant. It was just plain fun,” he told E! online. “But I don’t like the spoiler culture. I think stories should be experienced as you go.”

The cast of Warner Bros.’ upcoming “Sex and the City 2″ will be honored as film ensemble of the year at ShoWest 2010. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon will be feted March 18 at an awards gala set to close the annual exhibition confab. ShoWest opens March 15 at the Bally’s and Paris hotels in Las Vegas.

“With the success of the first smash hit ‘Sex and the City’ movie release, based on the hugely popular HBO series, the cast of ‘Sex and the City 2′ have already garnered commercial and critical success for their roles as four friends making their way through life and relationships in the big city,” ShoWest managing director Robert Sunshine said.

Chris Noth (aka: Mr. Big) was caught in a terrifying incident at a Purim party held inside Sony Plaza on Madison Ave in New York City. The Sex And The City actor watched as the building’s glass roof collapsed under the weight of ice and snow and sent shards into the lobby below. The 52-year-old actor was believed to have escaped without injury, although about a dozen people were treated for minor injuries. Four were taken to Roosevelt Hospital.

Noth wasn’t the only celebrity inside the building when the incident took place. Two Jersey Shore cast members, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Vinnie Guadagnino, were also partying. (Source)

A few years ago, Samantha Wills was selling her wares at the Bondi Markets. Now the Australian designer’s jewellery will be on the big screen in Sex and the City 2. The New York-based Wills said an assistant for the film’s costume designer, celebrity stylist Patricia Field, had visited the designer’s team six months ago.

“They viewed our collection and chose 15 pieces to hold in the wardrobe department during filming. It has been six months of crossed fingers that they would feature at least one piece, so we are ecstatic to get confirmation that Samantha Wills is going to be in Sex and the City 2,” Wills said.

Wills’s label is big in the US, with Rihanna, Eva Mendes, stylist Rachel Zoe, Pink and Kate Hudson spotted wearing her jewellery.

“Never before Sex and the City, or more importantly, since, has there been a show that is so revolutionary to the fashion world,” she said. “While it will be beyond exciting to see Samantha Wills on the big screen, from a business perspective, this is a really defining moment for the brand.”

As the release of Sex and The City 2 approaches, John Corbett, who played Carrie’s ex Aidan Shaw and Kyle Machlachlan, who portrayed Charlotte’s ex-husband Trey McDougal, just want to let you know that are NOT going to be in the sequel – unless they’re asked!

Kyle Machlachlan said, “They haven’t really called me yet. I think part of it is a conflict of interest because I’m on Desperate Housewives now, so they’re like, ‘Well, maybe not.’” He added, “I would love to go back just for a cameo. I thought (Davis and I) were (a good couple) but I actually really liked the relationship with the woman who played my mom, Frances Sternhagen, as Bunny,” he continued. “Some of the sequences with me in the tub and her talking to me while sitting on the toilet – I couldn’t believe they actually wrote it but it was classic!”

Would anyone want to see the return of Trey?

Don’t expect Sex and the City to end with the upcoming sequel. John Corbett, who played Carrie Bradshaw’s boyfriend Aidan in the HBO series, fully expects the Cosmo-drinking girls to be around for a long, long time.

“I think it’ll go on until they’re old bag ladies!” he tells UsMagazine.com. So, would Sarah Jessica Parker, 44, Kim Cattrall, 53, Kristin Davis, 45, and Cynthia Nixon, 43, be turning walkers into a must-have accessory? “To say the least!” he joked to Us at the Writers Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. “I’m absolutely sure it’ll happen.”

Although Parker’s character looks to still be with Mr. Big in the sequel (set to premiere May 28), Corbett is still hoping for an opportunity to join in the fun.

“I’m jealous,” he tells Us, laughing. “I want to be in those movies!”

Unfortunately for the actor, a rep for New Line Cinema told Us last month that rumors about a third SATC movie are “not true.” (Source)
